Morris Clayton Harwell passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012, at his home in Ardmore, TN at the age of 69.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ardmore and attended school at McBurg Elementary,
Boonshill High School, Martin Methodist College, and Athens State University.
Morris is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Slayton Harwell and his father Aubrey Clayton Harwell.
He is survived by: mother Frances Harwell of Ardmore, TN, daughter Anita Sowell (Joe) of Athens, AL,
son Michael Harwell of Prospect, TN, and son Chris Harwell (Kim) of Athens, AL,
brother Wayne Harwell of Ardmore, TN, grandchildren Ellery Sowell, Noah Sowell, Aubrie Harwell,
Eli Harwell, and Sara Harwell and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He received a BS in Chemistry and Mathematics from Athens State University and was
employed as a mathematician and a senior software analyst for various defense contractors involved with the space program in Huntsville, AL.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, hunting, and was a golf enthusiast, having played for more than forty years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 26th at 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral Services follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with
Rev. Sammy Brister and Rev. Allen Hughes officiating.
Burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, TN.
